Christine Sempoux is Full Professor of Pathology and Senior Physician at the Institute of Pathology, Lausanne University Hospital, University of Lausanne in Switzerland. She achieved her medical studies and training at the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, Belgium and obtained a PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences. Prior to move to Switzerland in 2014, she worked as Senior Physician at the Pathology Department, Cliniques universitaires Saint Luc from the Catholic University of Louvain, Brussels, Belgium. Her research interests and publications of the last years are related to liver pathology, including benign and malignant liver neoplasms, liver regeneration and NAFLD (through collaborations on animal models) and vascular liver diseases. She is member of the Laennec Liver Pathology Society, the International Liver Pathology Study Group (“The Elves”) and the European Society of Pathology where she currently acts as the secretary of the Digestive Diseases Working Group.
